The Staunton Auxiliary Police Department, is a volunteer organization, suited for motivated and dedicated individuals. The Auxiliary Police Department is a new program and will be a good opertunity for persons interested in law enforcement or retired law enforcement officers to take part in their community. The Auxilary officers although not actual members of the regular police department, will be able to participate in many community functions by providing traffic and parking control, aid in disaster situations, enforce city odinance violations, patrol lake and park areas, as well as boat patrol during the fishing / boating season. Anyone interested in the Auxilary Police Department should stop by the Staunton Police Department anytime, and pick up an application and job outline.
