SPECIAL MEETING
MINUTES FOR THE SPECIAL MEETING OF THE STAUNTON CITY COUNCIL HELD IN THE PUBLIC WORKS BUILDING, 920 N. EASTON, STAUNTON, ILLINOIS ON THURSDAY, OCTOBER 25, 2007, AT 5:30 P.M.
CALL TO ORDER:
The Special Meeting was called to order at 5:30 p.m. by Mayor Stein.
ATTENDANCE:
PRESENT: Councilmembers Bart Yakos, Randy Brown, James Sloan, Nelson Grman, Linda Prante, Bob Schwandner, Fred Lotter, Mayor Fred Stein and City Clerk Marilyn Herbeck
EXCUSED: Councilmember Craig Neuhaus
BUSINESS:
This meeting was called for the purpose of hiring clerical staff. The urgency of the meeting was declared so that the vacancy could be filled as soon as possible to take to the work load off of the other clerical employees.
EXECUTIVE SESSION:
Councilmember Brown moved, seconded by Councilmember Lotter to go into Executive Session to discuss Personnel.

AYES: Brown, Sloan, Grman, Prante, Schwandner, Lotter, Yakos
NAYS: None
ABSENT: Neuhaus
Motion declared carried.
Councilmember Lotter moved, seconded by Councilmember Yakos to return to Regular Session.

NAYS: None
ABSENT: Neuhaus
Motion declared carried.
MOTIONS:
Councilmember Brown moved, seconded by Councilmember Grman to hire Janice Kolkovich as Full Time Administrative Assistant at $12.75 per hour plus benefits.

AYES: Grman, Prante, Schwandner, Lotter, Yakos, Brown Sloan
NAYS: None
ABSENT: Neuhaus
Motion declared carried.
Councilmember Brown moved, seconded by Councilmember Lotter to designate Lori Grandone as Office Manager in charge of Administrative Employees of the City and report to Mayor and Personnel Committee Chairman.

AYES: Prante, Schwandner, Lotter, Yakos, Brown, Sloan, Grman
NAYS: None
ABSENT: Neuhaus
Motion declared carried.
ADJOURNMENT:
Councilmember Lotter moved, seconded by Councilmember Brown to adjourn at 6:12 p.m. All present voting aye, motion declared carried.
