• Annual Membership Meeting

  The 2012 Election of Officers Meeting was held March 22nd at Cavataio's Restaurant in Staunton.  Four board positions were filled by Cindy Hundley, Cindy Feldmann, Sue Campbell, and Natalie Albrecht.  Dana Allen was then elected to fill the position of President, Linda Prante was elected to fill the position of Vice-President, Karen Frey would fill the position of Treasurer, Marilyn Herbeck, the position of Secretary.
  

• Annual City-Wide Yard Sales

  The 10th annual yard sales will be held Friday and Saturday, June 8th and 9th, 2012 between the hours of 8:00am and 5:00pm.  To register your sale, contact City Hall, 304 W Main St, Staunton.  A $5 fee is required at registration.  Deadline for registration is Friday, June 1st.  Maps will be available at Casey's, Circle K, Bill's IGA and City Hall the week of June 4th.
  

• Tour DeDonut Bike Race

  The Annual Tour DeDonut Bike Race will be held Saturday, July 14th beginning at the Staunton Firemen's Park, 901 E. Montgomery Street in Staunton.  This event attracts visitors from all over and is sponsored by the Boeing Employees Bicycle Club. The 2011 race hosted over 1000 bikers. There is free overnight camping available at the park on Friday night.  Staunton also hosts their Annual Rib Cook-Off the same day as the Tour de Donut.  This event will be held in downtown Staunton and will have live bands, food and drinks.

• Staunton Rib Fest

  The Annual Staunton Rib Fest will be held on Saturday, July 14th, 2012.  The Rib Fest is an all-day event held on Main Street in downtown Staunton.  Nearly 50 cookers will compete for a cash prize.  Rib meals will be available beginning at 5:00 p.m.  Other food vendors, live entertainment, and activities will be available throughout the day.  Chamber members interested in reserving a space on Main Street during the event are asked to download and complete a Rib Fest Participation Form.
  

• Snack with Santa

  The Annual Snack with Santa will be held the first Saturday in December at the Zion Lutheran School on Henry Street in Staunton.  This free event is open to children of all ages and begins at 10:00 a.m.  Children will receive a snack, visit with Santa, and get to play on the giant indoor, inflatable slide. 
  

• Annual Christmas House Tour

  The Annual Christmas House Tour is held the first Sunday of December in the afternoon.  Each year, several Staunton area residents open their homes for this guided tour.
  

• Walk for the Cure

  The Annual Walk for the Cure will be September 15, 2012. This event is co-sponsored by the Staunton Chamber of Commerce and Community Memorial Hospital.  Registration begins at 8:30 am the day of the event and costs $20.00 with a t-shirt or $10.00 without a t-shirt.  All proceeds go to the American Cancer Society/Patient Services.

  Information will be available regarding breast health.  The hospital will provide beverages for participants. All participants are encouraged to wear pink and show their support.  First - Third place trophies will be awarded by time.

   

  
  

• Miss Staunton Contest

  The Annual Miss Staunton competition will culminate with the queen crowning on Friday evening, July 13th at the Staunton Fireman's Park at 6:00 p.m.  The 2012 competition has 7 candidates who will compete for the 1st place award of a $1000 scholarship and 2nd place award of a $500 scholarship.  Miss Staunton will then go on to compete in the Miss Macoupin County Pageant. 
  

• Annual Citizen of the Year

  The 2012 Staunton Citizen of the Year Award will be presented on Friday evening, July 13th, at the Staunton Firemen's Park just prior to the Miss Staunton queen crowning. 
  

• Scholarship Program

  The Annual College Scholarship awarded to a Staunton High School graduating senior will be presented to the winner the evening of the commencement ceremonies at the Staunton School during May.
